Lamp-working Opal
The Galaxy lampworking glassblowing opal is primarily made of silica along with a small amount of water. This type of opal is compatible with COE 33 (borosilicate glass) and is the most commonly used opal for lampworking glass art. It is also referred to as "Galaxy Opal," "Created Opal," and "Gilson Opal." This opal is available in a variety of colors, including water opal, milky opal, black opal, blue opal, pink opal, and fire opal.
